Account tiers & trustScore

The six risk tiers, what each one sets for reserve / settlement / limits, and how the trustScore (0–1000) is computed.

Every merchant sits in one of six risk tiers, derived from a 0–1000 trustScore. The tier drives the rolling-reserve percentage, the settlement hold, the API rate limit, and per-transaction / daily volume caps. Read your current tier and trustScore on GET /me.

trustScore (0–1000)

The trustScore on GET /me is a 0–1000 integer the platform computes from a multi-window, weighted blend of your account's risk signals:

  • Chargeback & dispute health — chargeback / denied-claim ratio across recent windows (the heaviest factor).
  • Refund & claim health — refund and open-claim ratios.
  • Fraud signals — flagged / blocked activity.
  • Account maturity — account age + lifetime volume.
  • Volume consistency — how steady your daily volume is (spikes lower the score).
  • KYB completeness — required documents on file.
The exact weights live in the risk engine and can change. Treat the score as directional: clean chargeback history + steady volume + complete KYB move you up; disputes, fraud flags and volume spikes move you down.

How your tier changes

Your tier follows your trustScore band (table above) — it is risk-driven, not a fixed self-serve threshold. There is no published "hit $X volume for N days and auto-upgrade" rule; the score reflects your live history and our risk team's review. To request a manual review for better reserve / settlement terms, contact your account manager with your merchant id. A very low score can place an account in probation (higher reserve, longer hold) pending review.
